Compact & Weather-Resistant Wide-Angle Zoom Lens for E-Mount Shooters
The Sony Vario-Tessar T FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens* is a versatile and durable wide-angle zoom lens, perfect for full-frame E-mount photographers. Designed to handle various shooting scenarios such as landscapes, cityscapes, and street photography, this lens offers excellent performance while maintaining a compact and weather-resistant build. Its constant f/4 aperture provides consistent results across the zoom range, making it ideal for photographers who need flexibility and reliability.
ZEISS Optical Design for Superior Image Quality
The lens incorporates the ZEISS Tessar optical design, featuring 12 elements in 10 groups. This helps reduce the overall size while effectively minimizing common issues like flaring, distortion, and chromatic aberrations.
- Constant f/4 Aperture: Ensures uniform performance throughout the zoom range and allows greater control over focus for shallow depth-of-field techniques.
- Rounded Seven-Blade Diaphragm: Adds to the bokeh effect, creating smooth and aesthetically pleasing out-of-focus areas, perfect for selective focus techniques.
- ZEISS T Anti-Reflective Coating*: Each lens surface is coated to reduce reflections, enhancing image clarity, contrast, and color accuracy.
- Extra-Low Dispersion Elements: With three extra-low dispersion glass elements, the lens minimizes chromatic aberrations and color fringing for better image sharpness and neutrality.
- Advanced Aspherical Elements: Incorporates five aspherical elements, including one large-diameter Advanced Aspherical (AA) element, to control astigmatism, coma, and other monochromatic aberrations for sharper, distortion-free images.
Advanced Features: Image Stabilization, Autofocus, and Handling
- Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization: Reduces camera shake, allowing for sharper handheld shots even with slower shutter speeds. It can also be paired with certain camera models’ sensor-shift image stabilization for even more effective stabilization.
- Fast and Silent Autofocus: A linear autofocus motor combined with an internal focus mechanism delivers fast, accurate, and near-silent focusing, which is especially useful when recording videos.
- Durable, Dust and Moisture-Resistant Design: Built to withstand challenging weather conditions, the lens is sealed against dust and moisture. Additionally, the rubberized control rings provide better handling, especially in colder environments.
