Overview
The Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM is an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens designed for E-mount cameras, offering a versatile focal length range ideal for landscape, architecture, nature, and interior photography. With a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, this lens excels in challenging lighting conditions, providing sharp, well-corrected images.
Advanced Optical Design
Part of Sony’s renowned G Master series, the FE 12-24mm lens delivers exceptional resolution and sharpness. Its optical construction includes three extreme aspherical (XA) elements and one standard aspherical element, effectively controlling spherical and chromatic aberrations. Additionally, two Super ED and three ED elements help reduce color fringing for enhanced clarity and color accuracy. The Nano AR Coating II minimizes reflections, flare, and ghosting, improving contrast and color rendering in bright lighting.
Fast and Precise Focusing
Equipped with an XD Linear Motor system, this lens provides quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance. The internal focusing design ensures responsiveness and maintains the overall lens length during operation. A minimum focusing distance of just 11 inches throughout the zoom range allows for versatile shooting options. The lens also features a manual focus control and an AF/MF switch for added convenience.
Durable and Practical Build
The Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM is built with a dust- and moisture-sealed design, making it reliable for outdoor use in various weather conditions. The fluorine-coated front element resists dust, moisture, and fingerprints for easy maintenance. An integrated petal-shaped lens hood helps to reduce flare and offers additional protection for the front element.
