Overview of the Sennheiser MKE 600
Upgrade your video audio quality by replacing your camera’s built-in mic with the Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun microphone. Designed for battery or phantom powering, this mic excels in various production environments, including independent films, web series, nature documentaries, and more.
Key Features
The MKE 600 boasts focused directional characteristics and resistance to structure-borne noise, ensuring superior sound quality. Its high sensitivity and low-noise circuitry provide clear audio without requiring excessive gain from noisy camera preamps.
Sound Performance
With a natural roll-off at 40 Hz and a selectable low-cut filter at 100 Hz, the MKE 600 enhances speech clarity while reducing low-frequency noise like rumble. The supercardioid/lobar polar pattern enables effective capture of distant sound sources.
Durable Design
Constructed from lightweight metal, the MKE 600 offers reliability without adding extra weight to your rig. It includes a shoe shockmount for easy mounting on cameras or tripods.
Power Options
The microphone features a 3-pin XLR output, compatible with various audio devices, including handheld recorders and camcorders. It can be powered by a single AA battery for up to 150 hours or via 48 VDC phantom power.
Easy Mounting
The included shoe shockmount facilitates placement on cameras or tripods. For boompole or mic stand mounting, consider the Rycote InVision INV-HG mkIII shockmount (sold separately).
Included Accessories
The MKE 600 comes with an XLR to 3.5mm TRS adapter cable for convenient connections to mini-jack inputs on cameras. A foam windscreen is also included to minimize unwanted wind noise.
For maximum wind noise reduction, consider additional windshields and shockmount systems like the Rycote Super-Blimp NTG or Rycote Super-Shield Kit (available separately).
